2025 Clubs & Classes

We are excited to be offering so many classes and clubs this year! Several are limited on seats so sign up early!

Stash Buster 2025

Want a little motivation to bust through your stash?! Sign up for our NEW Stash Buster Program! Each month you will receive 1 quilt pattern that is great for most any stash.

Patterns will be available for pick up the first week of each month. If you bring in your completed quilt top by the end of the following month (Ex. January’s pattern would need to be completed by the end of February) you will get a coupon for 40% off one item in our store!

One Block Wonder

If you have ever wanted to make a “One Block Wonder” quilt, this is your chance to learn how! Becki will guide you through creating the Calixta Quilt using 6 panels from the Calixta fabric line by Robert Kaufman and the book, “One Block Wonders of the World”. Only 5 spots available. Sign up early!

Meet: 2-day class on February 27th & 28th

Cost: $175 (includes book, 6-Calixta Fabric Panels, and lessons)

Super Bowl Sunday Mystery Quilt Day

February is all about love and the Super Bowl. Once again Becki is creating a mystery for you to come and sew on Super Bowl Sunday in 2025. The mystery will be revealed at 9 a.m. and sewing will then begin! Lunch will be provided and snacks are encouraged to bring. Sewing will go until 4 p.m. so we all can be home for kick-off!

Meet: Sunday February 9th from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Cost: $30 plus fabric and pattern

Tamarack Quilt Jacket Class

Quilt Jackets are on the rage and wouldn’t it be fun to make your own?! Join Deb and sew your own Quilted Coat using the Grainline Studio’s Tamarack Jacket pattern. Not sure what size you need to make, stop in and we can help you! Grab one of your quilts from your stack you wouldn’t mind wearing out and about OR quilt some of your favorite fabric pieces together. The possibilities are endless!

Meet: Session 1 February 21st, Session 2 March 28th

Cost: $60 (plus pattern and supplies)

The Scrappy Sisterhood

Do you have a fabric stash or scrap pile that you need to do something with, but are overwhelmed with where to start? Join Becki each month in the Scrappy Sisterhood to create string quilts using your stash! From start to finish, Becki will guide you through the string quilt method in “String Quilt Style” by Mary. M. Hogan. There are 14 quilt patterns included in the book that will keep you stringing through your stash of fabrics and scraps.

Meet: 2nd Wednesday of every month

Quilts of Valor

TQB Quilt Brigade

Mission Statement: “The Mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover Service Members and Veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor”

The Quilt Basket again will be hosting our local Quilts of Valor Group. This year the group is welcome to come during our Open Sew on the 2^nd Monday of each month (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) to help piece quilts. If you are unable to stay and sew, you may stop in and talk with Trudy about a project that you can work on at home. For those of you who would like to contribute to this wonderful cause, but maybe do not have the time to sew, the group would gladly welcome donations of fabric or funds to cover expenses involved in the creation of a quilt. Our local group has done an amazing job making beautiful quilts to be presented to some very deserving service men and women. They would love your help!

Beginning to Intermediate Quilting Class

Want to learn how to create your own quilt? Join Becki in “Quilting for Beginners” class to learn the ins and outs of quilting. She will guide you from beginning to end to create your very first quilt! This class is great for ages 12 and up with basic sewing skills.

Meet: 2nd Saturday of every month

*Starts January 11th from 10 to 3

Beginning Machine Embroidery

f you are wanting to learn how fun the craft of machine embroidery is, this class is for you. Diane will guide you through the process of using your Bernina embroidery machine. Whether you have had your machine for awhile or recently purchased one, this is a great place to start or begin again.

Meet: 1st Thursday of every month

Cost: $50.00 – First Class

Machine Embroidery

Machine Embroidery Club is such a fun club to be a part of! Join a wonderful group of ladies and work on a new project each month. Diane will guide you through the project and staff is always available to help you pick out your fabrics and threads. A fun filled two days of embroidery, fabric and friendship.

Meet: 3rd Wednesday & Thursday every month

Cost: $15 per day

Kid's Sewing Class

Kid’s Sewing Class is a great class for kids that are 8 years and older that want to learn how to sew. Kids will learn the very basics of sewing, all while creating a fun project to take home after each class. An adult must accompany every child and you are required to bring your own sewing machine.

Meet: 3rd Saturdy of every month

Bernina 101

Bernina 101 is your answer to all of your machine questions. Deb will teach you all about your Bernina sewing machine. Bernina 500 and 700 series machines will be covered each month. If you have a different series of Bernina Sewing Machines, a Bernette Sewing Machine or a Bernina Serger, please call and set up a time to have a session with Deb.

Cost: $50 if machine was purchased elsewhere

Misc workshops, 4-H workshops, & Retreats

As always, watch the newsletter for upcoming retreats and workshops that we will be hosting throughout the year!

BLOCKS OF THE MONTH

All of our Blocks of the Month offer a sew day in our classroom with an instructor to guide you. If that day doesn’t work for you, you can bring them to either the Basket Club meetings where Becki can give you a hand or you can work through them on your own at home. If you get stuck on a section, we’re only a phone call away. We can also mail blocks to you each month.

CLASS POLICY – Classes must be paid for at the time of registration. You may withdraw from a class up to 1 week before the class date to receive a full refund in store credit. Special Events require 14 days notification. No refund or store credit if canceling class within 6 days or less of scheduled class. If we have to cancel your class, we will try to reschedule it in the near future. If the new date doesn’t work in your schedule, we will issue a refund of store credit for the fee you paid. Due to copyright laws if the Class/Event requires a pattern, CD or book, each student is required to purchase one.

WINTER WEATHER POLICY – We will try to be open during our regular business hours. But we want to be safe too! If the weather is nasty, please call before you leave home so you can be sure we’ve been able to get in and open the store. If we have to cancel a class due to bad weather then we will reschedule it as soon as possible. Call us at (402) 362-5737 before you drive in to check to see if we are open.
